Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that the contest is officially closed (unless someone has a belated entry?). I haven't been able to announce it earlier because I had some things going on. We only had four entries, though, so I decided we'll have two winners instead of three (prizes have been modified below) and all of the contestants will be featured in my journal.
I forgot to post some basic rules for voting!!
Contestants are required
Voting on your own work is not allowed
Encouraging people to vote for you in exchange of anything is strictly forbidden
. If you want to encourage your watchers to vote, ask them to consider all of the entries, not just yours. Only group members
are allowed to vote (obviously).
Members are not required, but strongly encouraged, to vote.
Please take your time to consider every entry, and read in case of written entries. Note the group
with your choice for first and second place. The entries:

“Welcome back, Witches and wizards, to the second half of Love Potion, the game show where contestants could very well end up with the person of their dreams!”
The audience cheered with gay abandon – fireworks sparked from wands, wolf whistles and cat-calls rippled through the crowd. The commentator nodded reverently along with the audience, rousing them on with his right hand as the other held his wand to his face, using the Sonorus charm to amplify his voice. “Yes, I wonder who will be lucky tonight? Now, onto our next contestant, Miss Hermione Jean Granger!” The crowd went ballistic, poppers zinged and confetti was flicked onto the stage. Blushing, Hermione smiled bashfully, staring at her shoes. Voices that sounded curiously like Fred and George’s chanted “’Mione! ‘Mione! ‘Mione!” over the pops and bangs.
After everyone had calmed down, the commentator smiled at the girl behind th
Happy Birthday, Hermione!
September 19th marks the birthday of one of our favourite female characters of all times: Hermione Jean Granger-Weasley!
You might remember that, every year, I put up a selection of some of the best fanworks of all times featuring Hermione. This year we're going to try something different! Theme:
Celebrate Hermione's Awesomeness
For this contest, you can:
Depict a scene that shows one of Hermione's best moments through the series:
- It can be from the books or the movies, but it must be canon
. POVs are accepted, but no AU, and it cannot take place after the Battle of Hogwarts.
- Ron must be included
. However, it still should be a Hermione moment, not a Ron/Hermione scene.
- It must be a more or less significant moment, either for Hermione or in general, but remember that Ron must still appear somehow as in the canon (e.g.: you cannot depict Hermione figuring out Snape's riddle in PS, as Ron does not appear in the scene).
Show us one of Hermione's birthdays:
- If you go for this, you can depict any birthday from CoS on
, as the requirement is that Ron must be celebrating it with her.
- It can't be just a portrait of Hermione, there must be some sign of celebration! For both options:
- Other characters might appear, but keep it focused on Hermione
- For this contest, we're going to accept: Traditional and Digital Artwork - Comic - Poetry - Fanfiction - Photomanipulation with stock images.
- You can depict more than one scene/birthday in the same work. However, you can only submit two entries
--one for each option--and win only once.Rules

of the group.
Your submission must be new
: any work published before this journal entry will not be accepted.

: you cannot submit it to any other contest and you have to link to the group in your deviation's description.
Entries must be submitted to the Current Contest
folder. Theft is forbidden
. You may not use any copyrighted images or somebody else's work. Photomanipulations must link to all the stock images you used. Also, you may not submit old works on behalf of other people.
Rating of all submissions must be kept suitable for teens, 13 years and older, which allows some violence, minor coarse language, and minor suggestive adult themes. That is so everybody can appreciate your hard work and vote. Meaning: it can be G, PG or PG13
Regarding quality, lenght and such: Sketches, bad scans and works in squared paper or similar are not allowed, but visual works can be Black&White or lineart. Stories must not be under 500 words, no parts of multi-chapters, and beta read
